Lossie I.T Security Forum Rules
ALL USERS ARE REQUIRED TO MAKE AT LEAST ONE POST BEFORE THE TUTORIAL SECTION IS VIEWABLE, SO IF THIS SECTION SHOWS NO POSTS THIS IS WHY
The Strike System
The rules below form the basis for a system of "Strikes". Strikes are awarded by the moderation team for non-trivial violations of the rules listed and/or any other eventuality at the discretion of the individual moderator.
If a user accumulates 3 strikes, they will be banned from the forum, effective immediately.
Strikes may be removed in light of good behaviour, again at the discretion of the moderation team.
Please note that while this system is in place as a guideline, it is only that and moderators may immediately ban users for offences included but not limited to spamming and the posting of illegal content.
The following will not be tolerated:
1. Flaming, trolling, or attacking people over race/religion/sexuality.
2. Spamming.
3. Abuse of the PM system.
4. Attempting to infect, harm or defraud members of Lossie I.T Security Forums.
5. Arguing with, or being offensive to the staff.
6. Leeching.
7. Huge avatars or signatures.
8. Multiple accounts on Lossie I.T Security Forums by a single member.
Posting
Do:
Post in clear English (specific language forums excepted). Questions are more readily understood and easier to
answer if worded clearly. While allowances are made for non-native speakers, correct spelling and grammar are preferable - after all, it makes things easier for native and non-native speakers alike.
Respect all forum members. This includes moderators. Your questions are more likely to be answered if approached politely. Personal attacks on any user are not looked kindly upon.
Search before posting. This includes both general web-searches and searching the forum. Your question may well have been answered before and if it hasn't, you may still find information which allows us to answer more quickly than if it were asked blind. Good starting points are Wikipedia and Google.
Do not:
1. Make a topic without searching for similar ones first.
2. Create topics in the wrong section.
3. Post links to infected files, shock sites, or any other content that may harm the users computer.
4. Post without checking your post for mistakes, typos, or dead links.
5. Abuse capital letters, large fonts, or colours.
6. Use useless titles, such as 'great tool' or 'site hacked'.
7. Do not post fake hacks
8. Do no post anything that discloses personal information of third parties such as names, addresses credit
cards, account numbers, usernames and passwords to banking co-operations such as paypal moneybookers e.t.c.
9. Do not post infected software. Doing so will result in an instant ban.
